Custom Development and Third Party Systems Integration

Our leading service at eMagid is custom web design and development, which includes the flexibility to integrate third party systems. Depending on the client and industry, we are often tasked with seamlessly integrating software and/or technology into the planning, design, development and execution of a project. It is our firm belief that a web developer has the responsibility to create a website the client can maintain and update on their own once it has launched. This principle includes working with the technologies and tools that our clients are already successfully using to manage and market their businesses. Examples of third party systems integrations that eMagid frequently encounters on custom development projects are: WordPress, Google Maps, Social Media APIs (Facebook API, Twitter API, Instagram API), YouTube, Vimeo, Amazon Product API, PayPal, QR Codes and Zillow Rentals.

Two recently completed projects are great examples of custom web design and development with third party systems integration.

Deck

Photographer Arron Andrews of pop-up photography studio Deck initially came to eMagid with a Wordpress template he needed help implementing into the platform. After realizing his vision for the website went beyond a pre-made template, Andrews expanded the scope of the project to custom design and development using Wordpress as a CMS (content management system). Deck also uses SmugMug photo sharing to provide their clients with the ability to view photos from events and purchase prints. The design showcases two popular trends: single page websites and the use of retro fonts and iconography.

NYC Web Development Company

Do I Need a Web Development Company?

A website provides the first step towards a better connection with the customers of any business. About a decade ago, a website was all a company needed, but with all the new developments, a website simply isn't enough. Choosing an NYC web development company over just a website designer will provide your company with a full suite of services, from mobile application development to search engine marketing.

Businesses need to be visible online and they need to provide users with a convenient way to access all the services and products offered. Through custom application design, mobile website design and full marketing services, your company cannot only use a website to attract new customers, but also connect with your target audience through social media and mobile devices. Most New York website designers won't provide you with all the services you really need.

Customize for Better Branding

New businesses, new products and new services need branding to help consumers remember the benefits of what they offer. Without customization, your company won't stand out amongst all the other choices. A website might provide the first step for your branding efforts, but you need more than just a website. In addition, you cannot just build a website and expect people to find it.

A New York City web development company provides you with a professional solution to all your online and mobile needs. With custom designs for websites, mobile websites, applications and more, you can create a branded message your target market will remember and respond to. The solutions you need only come with a full suite of services including design, implementation and marketing.

Your brand should match across all platforms, but it won't matter if potential customers cannot find you. Once your website goes live, you still need a professional marketing team to help create a buzz around your products and services. From search engine optimization to pay per click management, a professional NYC web development company will put your website in front of your target market.

What do you Really Need?

Every company is a bit different and you may not need the same services as another type of business. A professional web development company in New York will offer custom packages providing exactly what you need. Whether you need full intranet services, website design, mobile application design, SEO services or any other web development options, the right company can provide a full suite of services matching your needs. Some of the services include:

  • Logo and Graphics Design
  • Social Media Page Design (Facebook and Twitter Backgrounds, images and timeline covers)
  • Print Design (Business Cards, Letterhead, Stationary, etc.)
  • Website Design
  • Mobile Application Design
  • PPC Campaign Management (Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, etc.)
  • SEO Services
  • Content Creation
  • Email Marketing

These are just a handful of the services you may need. A professional NYC web development company will customize your package to fit your needs. Starting with a logo to represent your brand and moving through to a final package including a website, mobile application, social media pages, full marketing package and more, you can take your company online the right way.

Wayback Web Design - If your site says, "retro," it's time for a redesign

Just as the history of art and design is punctuated by time periods that can be categorized by stylistic characteristics, the field of web design has its own marked periodic developments over its short 20-year history. (Having difficulty remembering how the web once was? Type in your favorite site to the Wayback Machine to see just how much it’s really changed.) However, while art enthusiasts might look back to a particular movement with admiration, on the web, design aficionados are only looking forward. In fact, if you’ve begun to notice that your website looks like it belongs to another era (even though that era may have only been three years ago), it’s time to invest in a website redesign.

Many clients may think that web design is just a frivolous line item in their website budget, but nothing has more impact on the way a visitor to your site views your company or brand. A study by the Stanford Web Credibility Project, How Do People Evaluate a Web Site’s Credibility? Results from a Large Study, published in 2002, found the average web visitor pays far more attention to visual cues, over content, when assessing a website. Nearly half, or 46%, of consumers in the study assessed the credibility of sites based in part on the appeal of the overall visual design of a site, including layout, typography, font size and color schemes.

To see the transformative effect of web design in action, take a look at some of the before and after results that eMagid has achieved for our clients:

No matter where you are in the process of branding, if your website hasn't been refreshed in a few years, you can benefit from a site redesign. eMagid.com works with clients throughout all stages of the branding process to bring their vision to the web. For clients with established brand standards (for example, Petit Trésor), we can optimize existing logos, colors, and design elements to display best on a website. Our designers are also accomplished in the graphic arts and can create an entirely new brand identity before beginning the web design process (for example, Pine Management).

Are you ready to update your website for 2012?

In Landing Page Design Trends for 2012, Website Magazine predicts:

"The trends we will see in 2012 will include the use of one or more dominant images, simpler and more consistent typography, and the use of slideshows and video to better show a retailer's entire inventory or to describe a business' service in greater depth."

eMagid.com recently completed a homepage redesign reflecting the stylistic trends mentioned above:

In general, all sources - both the most current sites on the web and industry press - point to 2012 as a year in simplicity for web design. We believe strongly that form follows function, and this direction in web design is no different. With the adoption of HTML5, its much easier to ready websites for mobile devices, and as this becomes a web development standard, naturally, website landing pages will become more streamlined for viewing on any device. This only supports the fact that consumers are looking for ways to do everything faster, better and on-the-go - an excellent reason to consider exercising a little restraint when designing the next version of your website.
